Converting your verge to natives is a fantastic way to save on water, support local wildlife and make your garden more climate resilient.

Native verges are low maintenance and never need mowing. They celebrate WA’s beautiful local plants and protect our precious biodiversity.

Get inspired to plant your own native verge by visiting one of the hundreds of native verges already in Curtin.

Check out our map below to find a native verge near you, and explore verges in your neighbourhood with our self-guided walking trails.

Below is all the information and resources you need to get started with your own native verge makeover.

HOW TO DO A NATIVE VERGE MAKEOVER

Over winter, our volunteers helped Melanie replace her lawn verge with natives. This process was quick, but took a lot of heavy lifting to remove the grass.

Thank you to the Town of Mosman Park for supporting us with lawn removal and mulch delivery. Thank you to volunteer, Emma, for making the video.

This flyer steps you through a low cost, low effort process for replacing your lawn verge with native plants. You’ll need to start in spring or summer, but each step is easy and cheap.

Thank you to the Town of Cambridge for sharing this process with us.
